I am excited to take on the position of president of our organization, The Opticians Association of Illinois. Our challenge is to stand together, helping opticians to become certified. The opticians’ employed by some chains stores and private offices are now requiring their dispenser to become certified. Do not wait until you are forced to become certified, Make it Your Choice. Get your certification; continue your education and support of your state association. Certification benefits our patients and our community as a whole. Stay up to date in advancing opticianry in our state by becoming a member of the Opticians Association of Illinois. Stay in touch, email us and help us grow yours’ and our profession. Standing together in numbers, makes us strong.

Our Spring Conference is planned and we are getting ready to mail our registration flyers. We will be in East Peoria at the Par-a-dice hotel April 30th, May 1st and May 2nd , 2010. Keep checking back for more information and details!

Spring is coming soon and so is our Spring Conference. Come and join us at the Par-a-Dice Hotel in East Peoria, Illinois on April 30th and May 1st and 2nd. For Friday night we will be enjoying a tour of Maui Jim Sunglass facility followed with a welcome reception. Roy Ferguson will be presenting our CEC’s on Saturday and Sunday with Michael Meyers doing our ABO Prep course. We have a great evening planned for Friday…DJ and Karaoke with dinner and door prizes and a silent auction . We will continue Sunday until noon and send you home relaxed full of new knowledge and enthusiasm for your career ! Your board is constantly working for you and our Fall Conference is already in the making. As always, please feel free to contact any of the board members with questions or suggestions.
